This new chipset has 3D V-cache tech and benchmarks show the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D bests Intel’s leading Core i9. In a recent Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark, AMD already showed its pre-launch boasts are accurate. Further benchmarks show that was no fluke and the Ryzen 7 is outperforming the i9-12900KS across the board. According to a review from XanxoGaming, the 3D V-cache helps AMD push beyond its rival and completely beats out the Core i9. It is worth noting neither CPU has integrated graphics, so the direct comparison between the two is fair. Testing Covering both 1080p and 720p tests, the review run the CPUs at their max graphics presets. Testing at 720p is revealing if you want to see how a processor caches, such as avoiding GPU bottlenecks and removing latency. For the review, XanxoGaming uses a Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti Founder’s Edition chip. The review offers the following takeaway on performance: “For the most part, on the test suite we have, 1080p results are on par, except some few exceptions. Death Stranding, even though it has a 240 FPS cap, AVG FPS and 1% LOW results are a tad better for the AMD Ryzen CPU. Out of the full test suite, three results stand out, even for 1080p. The point here is, which is the “fastest CPU” and as AMD Marketing showed, there is an actual difference in FFXV, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and The Witcher 3.” Tip of the day: When using your Windows 10 laptop or convertible with a mobile hotspot you might want to limit the Internet bandwidth your PC uses. In our tutorial we are showing you how to set up a metered connection in Windows 11 or Windows 10 and how to turn it off again, if needed.
