In a blog post today, the company announced a smarter messaging service for desktop users. LinkedIn says that 80% of its members believe that networking is important for career growth. Connecting with other users can create new opportunities for business relations and even jobs. With the new smart messaging experience, LinkedIn users can now message connections from anywhere on the site. The company says adding increased accessibility to contacts is important, whether reaching out to colleague or potential job. LinkedIn wants PC users to be able to connect anywhere on the platform, while the company is also providing suggestions to help users find jobs.
“This means that you’ll never lose context when reaching out to your network,” the company says. For example, you can have a conversation with a connection without ever leaving their profile, or reach out to someone directly from the LinkedIn Feed.” The job search suggestions will help users connect with potential employers. Connections are important in this aspect as nearly 50% of members have found a job through a mutual contact. By using the suggestion insights, users will see a list of any connections that work for an employer while viewing a job. LinkedIn can now also make an introduction to someone who works within the company.
Recent LinkedIn Updates
The enterprise-focused social network has been making improvements of late. Earlier this month, the company introduced the Lead Gen Forms feature for mobile users. When a member clicks a sponsored post, forms will automatically fill out with data from their LinkedIn profile. This means users can submit forms almost instantly. Back in March, the network announced that it is reintroducing its ad network. The new solution will be called Matched Audiences and will be launched this November.
