Inside Xbox is the company’s new vessel for community engagement, and it will feature exclusive gameplay peeks, behind-the-scenes of Xbox development, and breaking news. It promises 4K access on Mixer, YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, starting March 10. Its debut will focus on the upcoming Sea of Thieves, with Rare Studio Head Craig Duncan and executive producer Joe Neate. The pair will be talking Closed Beta feedback, core design principles, and what to expect at launch and beyond.
However, Microsoft’s trailer also holds hints of other triple-A titles, including Far Cry 5 and PUBG. It will also cover the reinvention of the original Xbox controller, new Xbox features, and Game Pass.
Driving Community Engagement
By all indications, this is a high production live stream which will act as the first point of call for Xbox fans. The month-long wait will ensure Microsoft has time to offer exclusive peeks in most streams, and should help to build community discussion in the downtimes. There will also be a chance for discussion during the sessions, with users encouraged to tweet their questions at #insidexbox for the hosts to see. Microsoft will be highlighting the comments via their dedicated community desk, overseen by Rukari Austin and Alex Hebert. Jeff Rubsteinand Lydia Ellery will also be joining Hryb and Boyd on screen, promising prizes and giveaways for participants. Mixer users will get some exclusive MixPot giveaways too, so Microsoft encourages users to connect their Microsoft account. If streams aren’t your thing, it’s likely the streams will be available after the fact on YouTube or Twitch. That said, the first stream debuts on March 10 at 12:00 PM PST. It’s bound to be an exciting one, so it’s well worth tuning in live.
