Microsoft says the preview is beginning as a limited run available for 200,000 users. It seems this is a slightly different version of the solution. The company describes it as developed from “the core of Microsoft Lists,” with some new features on top. Based on the company’s existing SharePoint lists solution, Microsoft Lists is a task management tool. It combines features form an app like Microsoft To-Do with more robust task management features like a Trello. “Microsoft Lists is a Microsoft 365 app that helps you track information and organize your work. Lists are simple, smart, and flexible, so you can stay on top of what matters most to your team. Track issues, assets, routines, contacts, inventory and more using customizable views and smart rules and alerts to keep everyone in sync. With ready-made templates, you can quickly start lists online, on our new mobile app, and directly from within Microsoft Teams.”
Personal User Preview
Among the new features in the Microsoft Lists preview is the ability to add images in a line. However, Microsoft says this version of Lists is missing some features found in the app on Microsoft 365. It seems the company wants to keep some features as exclusive to paid customers. At the moment, that includes the ability to access the app on iOS and Android. Users who want to opt into the preview, Microsoft has some limitations. For example, you can only create 50 lists, and each has a limit of 2,000 items. Other restrictions include a 200MB cap on files, images, or videos on each individual list. Tip of the day: When using your Windows 10 laptop or convertible with a mobile hotspot you might want to limit the Internet bandwidth your PC uses. In our tutorial we are showing you how to set up a metered connection in Windows 10 and how to turn it off again, if needed.
